International projects department

Since the full membership of Slovenia in the EU (May 2004) the main objective of the International Projects (IP) Department (previously called Technical Assistance to Exporters) is to attain and conduct large scale projects, which are financed by different EU programmes (IPA, ENPI, etc.) and corporations (e.g., IFC). Mainly, we are following announcements of Technical Assistance projects on the EuropeAid web site and Twinning projects on the web site of the Government Office of the Republic of Slovenia for Development and European Affairs. Geographically we are concentrated on Southeastern Europe, especially countries of former Yugoslavia.

SIQ has been granted the status of a Mandated Body and therefore represents the Republic of Slovenia in the Twinning projects. It closely cooperates on the behalf of the Republic of Slovenia with public institutions from candidate countries (beneficiary in the project). This means that through a project, institutions from the candidate countries receive expert knowledge and experiences from the public sector of the Member State country.

On the other hand, the Technical Assistance projects are intended for the private sector. SIQ is involved in different projects, individually or in consortium.
