A broad range of various product safety requirements exist. Which of these numerous requirements the product will need to meet depends on the type of the product, the environment in which the product will be used, and the country of its intended sale, but product safety testing usually deals with three basic safety aspects:

  • Electrical safety: hazards related to a product’s electrical characteristics;
  • Mechanical safety: hazards related to a product’s physical characteristics;
