We are the holders of national standards for electrical quantities and time and frequency

SIQ operates within the Slovenian distributed metrology system in coordination with the Metrology Institute of the Republic of Slovenia (MIRS) and is the holder of the national standard for the fields of electrical quantity and time and frequency. The maintenance of national standards for electrical quantities and time and frequency is co-financed by MIRS pursuant to the Decision on the recognition of a standard for a national standard issued on the basis of the second paragraph of Article 7 of the Metrology Act (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 26/05 – UPB1). , the first paragraph of Article 9 of the Rules on National Standards (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, nos. 51/07 and 63/2008) and the Public Invitation to apply for recognition of a legal entity as the holder of the national standard no. 6401-18 / 2008/1, published in Ur. l. RS, no. 101, dated October 24, 2008.

As holders of the national standard for electrical quantities and the national standard for time and frequency, we ensure the traceability of these units to the international level.

Seminars and trainings

One of the basic tasks of the metrology institute is also the transfer of specific metrology knowledge as well as broader knowledge in the field of measurement technology, laboratory work and metrology. Therefore:

  • we conduct seminars and trainings in the fields of control of measuring equipment, preparation for accreditation, measuring and calibration procedures, measurement uncertainty, etc.
  • we cooperate with laboratories in the reorganization of their laboratories, preparation of calibration procedures, implementation of internal audits
  • we deal with more complex projects and the search for comprehensive solutions in the field of measuring technology, technical control, etc.

Our projects are focused on the development of new measuring procedures, principles, measuring instruments and standards.
