Online training course: What Are the Key Updates of the ISO/IEC 17020:2026 Standard

The new edition of this international standard places greater emphasis on information confidentiality and impartiality. In addition, it introduces stricter requirements related to customer feedback.

The standard was published on March 27, 2026. The Slovenian translation is expected to be available in a few months.

Content

• Changes in the classification model defining impartiality
• Risks and opportunities: extended requirements for systematic consideration, acting, and monitoring of results 
• Requirements related to complaints and appeals are being revised to improve clarity and consistency of implementation
• Management system – these changes support greater alignment among accreditation programs and simplify implementation for organizations holding multiple accreditations

It is recommended for:

• representatives of inspection body management and persons responsible for maintaining accreditation, involved in the development, maintenance, and improvement of the management system in accordance with ISO/IEC 17020;
• internal auditors, process owners, and consultants involved in the implementation or updating of the system;
• all organizations already accredited under ISO/IEC 17020:2012 or planning to obtain accreditation under ISO/IEC 17020:2026.
