Electrical Safety, EMC & Market Access Seminar on Luminaires at SIQ Ljubljana
On 15 May 2025 – in the week of the International Day of Light – SIQ Ljubljana welcomed more than 40 R&D engineers, compliance specialists, and lighting-industry professionals from nine countries to its dedicated seminar on luminaires.
Throughout the day, expert presenters charted the fast-moving regulatory landscape, unpacking:
- the new IEC 60598-1 Ed. 10 and parallel UL updates
- emerging cybersecurity obligations for connected lighting
- best practices for factory inspections and production control
- evolving photometric requirements, including CIE S 025/IES LM-79
Live case studies translated these topics into actionable guidance on electrical safety, EMC performance, and global market-access strategies.
Highlights included:
- Prof. Matej Bernard Kobav (University of Ljubljana) on human-centric lighting for indoor workplaces
- Stephen Dahle (LMT Lichtmesstechnik GmbH) with a technical deep dive into goniophotometry standards
- A guided tour of SIQ’s accredited laboratories and a networking reception rounded off the programme, sparking new collaborations across the lighting value chain.
Thank you to every participant for the questions, discussions, and enthusiasm that turned the seminar into a vibrant knowledge-sharing forum – and to our speakers for illuminating the path toward safer, smarter, and globally compliant lighting.
