Quality
Standard for Quality Assurance in the NATO Supply Chain
The AQAP 2110 standard is primarily used in the defence industry for quality assurance in the design, development and manufacture of products for military purposes. It is used by companies that supply products and services to the military and must meet the requirements of AQAP 2110 to ensure compliance with NATO quality standards.
Why AQAP 2110?
AQAP stands for “Allied Quality Assurance Publications” – a set of standards for quality assurance systems developed by NATO.
AQAP 2110 defines quality assurance standards for the procurement of products and services for military needs (land/sea/air). Compliance with the AQAP 2110 standard is important when we want to participate in Ministry of Defence tenders in certain countries or in NATO procurement. In many countries, it is the policy of the Department of Defence to prioritize the selection of suppliers who are AQAP certified.
Certification
To obtain the AQAP 2110 certificate, a company must already be certified to the ISO 9001 standard or be certified according to both standards at the same time. If a company already has a quality management system established and certified according to ISO 9001, it shall be extended with additional requirements for risk management, traceability, a quality plan and configuration management to meet the requirements and guidelines set out in the AQAP 2110 standard.
