Accredited calibration of automotive test equipment

Calibration of automotive test equipment is a critical aspect of ensuring the validity and compliance of the equipment used in the automotive industry for development, testing, and quality control purposes. Calibration involves comparing the performance of a device to a known standard or reference to identify any deviations in accuracy.

Calibration is essential to maintain the precision and reliability of automotive test equipment. Inaccurate measurements can lead to non-compliant automotive components entering the market, potentially compromising vehicle safety and performance.

The frequency of calibration intervals varies depending on the specific equipment and its intended use. Typically, electronic equipment is calibrated annually, while mechanical equipment may have longer calibration intervals.

As automotive technology advances, particularly with the shift to electric vehicles (EVs), the calibration of test equipment has become increasingly sophisticated. The SIQ calibration laboratory specializes in automotive test equipment calibration and brings extensive experience in supporting automotive test laboratories. Calibration services can be performed at the SIQ facility or conveniently on-site at the client’s location.
